About me
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started exploring creativity around the age of ten, experimenting with anything that caught my curiosity – from pysanka (Ukrainian egg art) to drawing still lifes and even trying my hand at sculpture. I’ve always been fascinated by the process of making something from nothing, by how an idea or a feeling can take shape through color, form, and texture.
A few years ago, I decided to start painting, mostly out of curiosity and a desire to reconnect with that creative spark. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into something much deeper. In the past few months, I’ve come to see painting in a new light — understanding it as a language of emotion and discovery. It’s like stepping into a new world that I never want to leave.
Inspiration
My work is constantly evolving, but I’d say I lean toward abstract realism, often inspired by lush florals or vibrant scenery. I love playing with acrylics, mixed media, and texture. My process is intuitive and experimental — I rarely start with a clear plan. I’m drawn to contrast, layers, and the unpredictable moments that happen along the way. The colors, however, in my paintings are never arbitrary; they are drawn from specific visual inspirations and carry intentionality in their depth and tone. My work often oscillates between a heaviness in depth and a soft, feminine quality. I am also deeply drawn to dream-like, ethereal compositions, where emotion and atmosphere take precedence over form and realism.
Meaning
Through my work, I aim to capture energy and feeling rather than depict something concrete. Each painting becomes its own experience, open to interpretation — I love when people see something completely different than what I felt while creating it.
Based in Montreal, I continue to learn, explore, and push myself to grow as an artist with every new canvas. Painting has become a meaningful part of my life — something I’m truly excited to share.
